Viruses, Spyware and Trojan Horses, oh my!

December 27, 2007

Lucky me… My PC has a nasty virus. And I don’t mean a bad bout of the common cold. I managed to infect it with a trojan horse. Basically, that means I have spent HOURS with anti-virus/anti-spyware software trying to clean it back up.

Since it is nearly the end of the year and a good time to do general housekeeping and whatnot, consider this your friendly reminder to NOT download something that seems a little questionable and ALWAYS keep your anti-virus software up to date. And, most importantly, BACK EVERYTHING UP.

That said, since I haven’t been able to use RocketLife for a week now (am having withdrawals, thankyouverymuch), I’d love to open the blog up for your submissions. Send me your creations and you can be the blog star of the day!

If you’re looking for a little inspiration, here are a few ideas to get you started:

  1. It’s time to bust out the 2008 calendars! Make one for your family and friends with RocketLife! Aren’t pictures of your family better than, say, pictures of dogs and cats or tropical scenery?  Unless, of course, they’re pictures of your own cats and dogs and vacations to tropical locales…
  2. Use some of your holiday pictures to create your own custom thank you cards. Writing a thank you card NEVER goes out of style and gets even more stylish when you make one using your own photos.
  3. Make a photo book of all of your favorite holiday moments. You can start a new tradition - a new holiday book for every year!
  4. Make collage prints using your holiday photos. They’re quick, easy, inexpensive and great for tucking into those thank you cards.

So start creating! Send your screenshots here!.

Holiday Cards, Lola Style

November 19, 2007

Is it really that time already? Seriously? In addition to holiday shopping and the enormity of cooking a Thanksgiving meal (brine the turkey - trust me… you’ll thank me later), it’s about time to get those holiday cards off to the post office.

Since Lola is my roommate and best friend, I like to feature her in my holiday cards. It’s so much more personal than something generic from the store.

So check out what I made:

(and yes, that does say “Have a Pugnificent Holiday)

Want to know how I did it? Keep reading after the jump…

Halloween!

October 30, 2007

Tomorrow is Halloween and since I don’t have any Lil’ Sheas running around (yet), I tend to dress up the next best thing - my Pug, Lola.

I’m not even going to tell you how many treats I had to bribe her with to get her into this getup…

I decked out this fun Halloween theme with a few Placeable Graphics.  You can tell that I am kind of in love with the Placeable Graphics. Oh, who am I kididng?  I’m totally in love with them.

Julie, a fellow RocketLife-er, must have had the same idea - she made a Halloween collage of her cat, Lydia Rose:

Be sure to check out the cool Harvest and Halloween themes (and Placeable Graphics).   I’d love to see what you make with these themes!  And if you have any questions or want to submit some of your handiwork, please shoot me an email.
