RocketLife Wins the Computer Times Editor’s Choice Award!

March 31, 2008

CT Editors Choice AwardBack in January, RocketLife took home the DIMA Innovative Product Award during the PMA show.  And now, RocketLife has another award to add to the shelf - the Computer Times Editors’ Choice Award!

The Computer Times’ editors had lots to say about RocketLife:

RocketLife is a fast and easy way to create unique, personalized products that will impress your friends and family. A gorgeous photo book that you designed yourself would be a great Christmas present for your parents, or a puzzle for your youngsters, a collage poster of your rocker sweetheart’s debut on stage, or a mug with your favorite gorgeous celebrity for you to drink out of every morning. With so many ways to make these products your own, Rocket Life is a must for creative people who like to have control over every aspect of their creations.

We have to agree- there are tons of opportunities to create awesome, unique products with RocketLife!

Check it out!

February 14, 2008

As part of our new software release, we’ve changed the way things look a bit around RocketLife.

Lemme show ya:

RL New Version

First off, notice the numbers in the upper right hand corner. Those are there to guide you along in your RocketLife experience. 1 is the Catalog, which is where you can check out the different products available and decide what to make. 2 is Customize, which is where all the magic happens. Seriously - the Smart Arrangement Technology happens here and I kind of think it’s magical (but that’s probably because I don’t really understand the highly technical stuff behind it). Step number 3 is where you actually order (and I like that you don’t have to order stuff until after you’ve made lots and lots of fun products). Step 4 is the checkout and you’re good to go!

I’ll keep covering the new stuff over the next few weeks.

As always, I love your feedback, so bring it on and leave a comment!

RocketLife at PMA!

January 7, 2008

Guess what?  Some of the RocketLife gang (including yours truly) will be at PMA 08 in just a few weeks!  If you happen to be there, please be sure to stop by and say hello (and show me some of your photos since you’ve seen so many of mine!).

What’s PMA?  It’s the worldwide community of imaging associations.  Basically, it’s an association of people involved in the photo imaging industry ranging from photo and scrapbook retailers to wedding photographers and videographers.  PMA 08 is a conference and trade show with lots of opportunities to learn more about the ins and outs of photography and the products that make the industry so cool.

So mark your calendars and don’t forget to pay us a visit!  We look forward to meeting with you!

And the Award Goes To…

October 31, 2007

Popular PhotographyWho doesn’t love winning an award? I certainly do. Yours truly happens to be the recipient of the 8th grade Best Smile award. Those braces-wearing years really paid off!

Of course, Best Smile is pretty meager in comparison to Kodak’s latest achievement. Popular Photography Magazine awarded them two POP Awards for Photography’s Outstanding Products. The twenty-five award winners were selected from hundreds of products. How cool is that? Even cooler? One of the awards was for Kodak’s Custom Creations Software, which just happens to be powered by RocketLife!

That beats Best Smile by leaps and bounds. And doesn’t require the use of orthodontic contraptions either.

Well hello there…

October 24, 2007

Ahem, drum roll please…. Welcome to the new and very fabulous RocketLife blog!! Cheers all around! Champagne glasses clinking! Applause! I’m Shea. And I’m kind of craft challenged. And I’m pretty sure that I’m not the only of you out there who considers themselves to be somewhat creative, but lacking in follow-through. Or maybe you just simply don’t have time to be the divine creative being that you wish you were.

If you’re like me, you have boxes of photos that have never made it into an album. You have a digital photo collection that continues to reside on your memory card or somewhere on your hard drive. Maybe, in a brief burst of inspiration, you ordered some prints somewhere. But it probably took a long time and you probably never did it again.

That’s why I’m here (and why I hope you are too) - to discover how we can actually make use of the photographs that we take. And maybe, over time, all of the weddings and baby showers and first days of school and senior proms will make their way out of our respective computers (or shoeboxes in the closet) and into something tangible.

This is like scrapbooking for the non-scrapbooker. For those of us who don’t have the time to devote to special kinds of glue and die cuts and stickers and anything labeled acid-free. For those of us who want to make something beautiful, but don’t want to spend hours doing it.

I hope that you will join me here to share ideas and help inspire that lil’ creative bug that resides inside each and every one of us. Let’s see what kinds of cool things we can do together
